Another dawn brings us closer…
We have made some progress we are happy to share with you. An earlier version of this newsletter was sent to a smaller mailing list by mistake. Please forgive us if you already received the news below.
Hello, Dwellers of Eldervale!
It has been… a long time since you have heard from us. But who’s (cough, 9 months, cough) counting? Good thing we are not shy about being real with you. We are here – here to tell you we have been working even as the world is going through some… times.
International Fans: German and Spanish Versions are LIVE
Guten Tag, Hola! Recent months have seen the release of both the German and Spanish versions of Dwellings of Eldervale. We let you know they were coming and indeed they have now been released by our partner publishers, Schwerkraft-Verlag and Gen-X Games. It has been quite fun seeing social media shares as these language communities open new boxes and get games played. Woot!
Sacré bleu, where is French? We are working to determine the status of the French version since that publisher has been going through some changes.

Dire Wolf, Thief, Castles & Elemental Shards
3D modeling of the miniatures (see above!) has been an adventure. The journey is not over, but nearing the stage where we can move forward with manufacturing. We are absolutely loving the look and feel we have achieved which will enhance the fun they add to the game play when on your game table.Our plan is to release the two Mercenaries (Thief and Dire Wolf) separately in packaging similar to the Minotaur and Shapeshifter. And, to release the Castles and Elemental Shards bundled together as a single order item.
Since we’re in the early stages of manufacturing, we can not reliably announce a release date. We’re tentatively planning to release in Q1 2026. Given everything going on in the world, it is possible the release could slip to Q2. Just being realistic here and letting you all know we promise to persist until the job is done. Sourcing materials and manufacturing products in the current global market is no joke. But, we love what we do and will be excited to share progress as we move forward! You all deserve the best that we can offer.
Availability - 5th (English) Printing to Follow 4th, Just Not Too Fast
Wow! Who knew we were going to be so familiar with the word "tariff"? It is safe to say that our previous plans have been affected as we flex with what is happening. It is with sadness that we have read news of significant fellow publishers closing their doors in recent months. We feel fortunate to be here and planning to outlast these global economy/industry issues. We hope you are able to say the same in any ventures you have going.
Current status: A limited number of 4th printing (Second Edition) copies of the Dwellings of Eldervale Standard base game and other order items are still available at BreakingGames.com. This supply remains at original pricing and will likely not last through the end of the year. Dwellings of Eldervale is a large box game that tariffs (if still in place) will likely affect when we place the order for - and take delivery of - the 5th printing. For now, we have held off on ordering more Standard base games.
Game Mats & Frost Giant Packs
New + Backfill Order: When we print up the 2 Mercenaries and Castles & Elemental Shards discussed above, we plan to back fill our sold out order items. We plan to order Game Mats, and Frost Giants to be delivered in the same shipment as the expansions.
Frost Giant Packs - We have promised to keep this special order item available for all owners of a First/Kickstarter Standard or Deluxe Edition looking to add this optional play to their copy. The number of such copies is dwindling. We will be making a very limited number of Frost Giant Packs (and Mother of Dragons miniatures) available each time a wave of Dwellings of Eldervale order items are released.
Starting with Gen Con 2022 (the first to see Dwellings of Eldervale being played in the Event Hall) Dwellings of Eldervale events have sold out each year and 2025 was no exception. The great fun so many first-time players had was palpable.

PAX Unplugged
Friends! Breaking Games will be back at PAX Unplugged in 2025. Our plans for PaxU will be providing a fun, advanced look at our newest title, Caminito - a roll and color game that has been a blast to playtest - IF we we get the art in time. We’re Doomed! will also be highlighted - with playable promo Event cards to shuffle in for more mayhem!
